ROOKWOOD SUBSTATION

Detom Design was contracted by Alstom Grid Australia to assist with their winning tender bid and subsequent detailed landscape design for the $100 million TransGrid Holroyd and Rookwood Substations project. The project involves the design and construction of 330/132kV substations at both Holroyd and Rookwood for the Greater Western Sydney Supply Project. Detom Design is also assisting Alstom Grid throughout the construction and maintenance stages.

For the 2.7 Ha Rookwood site, we ensured the landscape strategy used sustainable practices such as Water Sensitive Urban Design principles, the use of indigenous Cumberland Plain Woodland plant species and recycled materials. Super advanced contract grown trees are being used to assist with visual amenity for the adjacent Sydney Water facility and Rookwood Road frontage.
