LITTLE LAKE BRIDGE

The footbridge over the Little Lake entrance is a key piece of infrastructure linking kilometres of coastal shared pedestrian and cycle paths. It is located near Barrack Point in the city of Shellharbour on the NSW South Coast.

Following Renèe Tenhave's project management of the Shellharbour Foreshore coastal open space design for Shellharbour City Council, Detom Design was contracted to carry out detailed structural engineering for this important pedestrian and cycle link.

The bridge structure was designed to allow for continued recreational use of the popular tidal channel for boating, fishing, swimming and water play. The bridge approaches and the bridge deck gradients address universal access requirements.
